I am still amazed that this happened. We spent longer in auditions for this than most student films spend on their entire production. You can see by the length of the credits how many people it took to make this possible.


This is the only student film script that I wrote that I didn’t direct, and I am still very grateful for that. Mike took on the challenge of bringing this beast together. It took over two years, but it was worth it.


If I had the chance to go back and write this again, I would make a simpler story with fewer songs, but I think that’s the kind of thing you only learn in hindsight. Of the half dozen or so songs we wrote for this, I do think that two - “Like Canada” and “Tango de la Muerte” - hold up well.
